Statesmen Dennis Halls,Ray Wade,Bernie
Bates,Wilf Collier Alan Dyke.
The Statesmen worked throughout the Manchester Club curcuit leading
onto the UK club national curcuit,the association with Brian Epstein
led to many appearances at the Cavern and Liverpool venues followed by
three 4week seasons at the STAR CLUB in Hamburg working with many USA
headliners and now famous Liverpool bands including The Beatles,Gerry
and the Pacemakers,the Searchers,Bill Haley and the Comets,Fats
Domino,Chuck Berry,Little Richard and many more in the late sixties
the band reformed after drummer Dennis Halls and guitarist Alan Dyke
left the band ,the band led by Ray Wade reformed as a show band called
the Showbandits and worked the clubs throughout the 70,s as the
Showbandits.
Dennis Halls became a succesfull businessman and lives in
Horwich,Alan Dyke lives with his wife and family in Hyde,Ray Wade
lives in Rhyl and runs a gift business,Bernie Bates lives in Dublin
and Spain having retired after a serious car crash,Wilf Collier who
owned a well known Bolton Pub now lives in Thailand where he owns
property and a Business.
All the band members have kept a healthy interest in playing music and
are proud to have been part of one of the most exciting era,s of pop
music as representatives of Manchester throughout the UK and Europe.
