Gods Gift.

Gods Gift were formed in 1978 by Steven Edwards and Steve Murphy, two Salford lads who both worked at Prestwich Psychiatric Hospital. Other members included Paul Leadbeater, Laura Plant, Martine Hilton, Rob Hall, Roy Bebbington, Andy Glentworth, Paul Adams and Iain Gray who all either performed live or recorded with the group at various times.

Gods Gift used to rehearse at The Newmarket pub in Pendlebury and performed their first gig at the nurses' residence at Prestwich Hospital.

They put out a few self-releases including one on a "Manchester Musicians' Collective" compilation, some stuff on the New Hormones label and an album called Folie á quatre on the Pleasantly Surprised label.

Gods Gift folded in 1985.

A compilation album called Pathology was released in 2009 by the Messthetics label.

For more info- there's a great interview with Steve Murphy on the New Hormones website HERE.
